Portmagee Whiskey is more than a spirit brand – it’s a visitor experience rooted in one of Ireland’s most iconic coastal communities. Based in the iconic looking Portmagee Domes in the village of Portmagee, Co. Kerry, it supports local tourism by giving travellers a reason to stay longer: tasting-led storytelling, a strong sense of place, and a natural link to the wider Skellig Coast experience. It adds a distinctive stop that helps drive year-round footfall and keeps value within the community.

Sustainability underpins that mission. Portmagee Whiskey has planted native Irish woodland, helped protect local Intangible Cultural Heritage through the tradition of seine boats, and engages fully with leading sustainability programmes including Origin Green and the Sustainable Tourism Network (STN). The result is a premium whiskey experience that balances welcome and authenticity with long-term care for place, people, and culture.

Our people are passionate and proud of Portmagee and together we seek to grow in harmony with our village, providing opportunity and adventure for future generations of our community. Portmagee Whiskey’s plans don’t end with the completion of our distillery experience and visitor centre.

Our Top Tip: Do the next best thing you can do, action is better than dreaming.

Our Proudest Sustainability Achievement: Planting the native Irish woodlands and achieving Intangible Cultural Heritage status for our local Seine Boats as these actions will outlast our time on the planet and were the right thing to do.
